Six populations in the Sierra foothills near the Tule River in Tulare County. The species has thrived at the Regional Parks Botanic Garden and gives a two-month display beginning in March of every year. Some references calls Munz's Iris the largest California iris but don't bet the house on that. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
