Description:
Black-&-Yellow Grosbeak Mycerobas icterioides in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, India. We were fortunate to see this lovely bird at 5 to 6 points during the Sar Pass trek. It's call of 'pir-riu pir-riu pir-riu........' was really wonderful. It will sit at some distant canopy in the early mornings & late evenings & give some good views to all the trekkers from camps with Binocolors. Early morning a number of these birds (along with females which are quite dull in comparison) were seen feeding at ground at Bhandak Thaatch (8000 ft.). Only to fly away on the adjustant trees on approach.
