Image of basidiomycete fungi

Description:

Summary[edit] Description: Inocybe geophylla (Pers.) P. Kumm. Image location: San Pablo Reservoir, Contra Costa Co., California, USA Can’t be Hebeloma with pleurocystidia, Hebeloma doesn’t have pleurocystidia. The spores weren’t quite right for Hebeloma either. The cap surface doesn’t appear to have hyphae in a gelatin matrix, just a cutis of fibrous hyphae. These look like Inocybe. I believe the only off-white Inocybe in California is just I. geophylla. Recognized by sight Based on microscopic features : For more information about this, see the observation page at Mushroom Observer.
