Description:
Summary[edit] Description: English: Elephant Mosquito - Toxorhynchites rutilus, Meadowwood Farm SRMA, Mason Neck, Virginia. Good mosquito - an oxymoron? Not in this case. The larvae of this mosquito eat the larvae of the irritating, disease carrying smaller mosquitoes. Plus, this mosquito is gorgeous, with shiny metallic blue scales. Mosquitoes are members of the Fly order. Date: 4 September 2013, 17:51:10. Source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/52450054@N04/9682988595/. Author: Judy Gallagher.
