Buddleja lindleyana ^ Helianthus atrorubens - Flickr - peganum
Description:
Buddleia (or Buddleja if you prefer. Both are correct) is a large and varied genus of world-wide distribution. Recent DNA analysis puts it with the Scrophularias and Verbascums. Lindleyana is a useful smallish shrub that mixes well with herbaceous perennials and produces these unusually coloured tubular purple blooms over a long period through the summer. Here it's looking very nice coming up among the Helianthus atrorubens.
