Description:
Description: Native, yearlong-green, perennial, erect, few-stemmed grass to 110 cm tall. Flowerheads are slender, contracted to somewhat open panicles (5-20 cm long). Flowers from spring to autumn. Found on low fertility, shallow, sandy or rocky soils in dry eucalypt forests and in disturbed areas, especially along roadsides. Native biodiversity. Of little importance to livestock as it is rare in pastures. An unproductive and low quality feed, it shows little response to fertiliser. To aid persistence, only lightly graze and spell after good rainfall in spring to allow seeding. Date: 9 April 2013, 10:39. Source: Rytidosperma tenuiusOrange location1.
