Summary[edit] Description: Deutsch: Schachblume (Fritillaria meleagris), auch Schachbrettblume genannt, ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Liliengewächse. Sie wächst im Naturschutzgebiet Sinngrund, dem größten Vorkommen in Deutschland, bei Obersinn in den Feuchtwiesen der Sinn. Die Schachblume ist giftig, wird etwa 15 bis 20 Zentimeter groß und blüht von April bis Mai. Sie ist in Deutschland stark gefährdet und gilt nach der Bundesartenschutzverordnung als besonders geschützt. Nennesnwerte Bestände gibt es neben dem Sinngrund nur noch an der Unterelbe bei Hamburg und östlich der Elbe in der Nähe der Stadt Zieser. Date: 22 April 2012. Source: Own work.
