Summary[edit] Description: English: Commonly referred to as "spinifex", Triodia is a grass genus having spike-shaped blades. Spinifex also refers to a rare, distinctive, texture in volcanic rocks. Spinifex texture refers to elongated blade-shaped to spike-shaped crystals of olivine and pyroxene in komatiites, which are very rare, magnesium-rich, ultramafic, extrusive igneous rocks.
