Six-spot Burnet Moth (Zygaena filipendulae) - geograph.org.uk - 928302

Image of Neoptera

Description:

Summary[edit] Description: English: Six-spot Burnet Moth (Zygaena filipendulae) This might be taken for a Five-spot Burnet Moth, but this is because the patterning of the six-spot can vary, and some of its spots can fuse, as is the case here (the five-spot, in contrast, has a southern distribution in Britain). This species was abundant in the grassland where the photo was taken. Date: 27 June 2007. Source: From geograph.org.uk. Author: Lairich Rig.
