Description: Native, warm season, perennial, erect, densely-hairy herb 1–2 m tall. Leaves are ± ovate, 6–22 cm long and 3.5–12 cm wide; occasionally with scattered sessile glands and/or stalked glandular hairs as well as spreading to antrorse hairs. Ocrea is pubescent, limb collar-like, to 7 mm wide and entire. Flowerheads are elongate-cylindrical, dense spikes 3.5–8 cm long and 5–10 mm diam. Perianth segments are 2.6–4.0 mm long and white to greenish-white. Widely distributed over the State and in warmer regions of Australia and Malesia. Widespread in and near water.
