full powers to cap-ture the hunter and bring back hisnarrative. Thursday afternoon I turnedaway from watching the Hudson-Fukonmilitary parade long enough to open atelegram from Truro, Nova Scotia, andto read these words: Have arrangedfor three articles—first to be ready forJanuary issue—-good photographs. That was all, and it was enough. But we didnt want to wait for Janu-ary to begin the story. Therefore weput in a plea for a little more haste and,as a result, the first installment will beprinted in our December issue. I havetold this little story here, first, becauseI am convinced that the readers of themagazine will be interested to knowwhat is coming and how it was secured;second, because I am of the opinionthat the matter is important enough tobe dwelt on; and, finally, because theeditorial department of this magazine isa little proud of the effective way in whichthe arrangement with Mr. Whitney wasmade and the celerity with which thegreat opportunity was met.
