Summary[edit] Description: English: Nutria (a.k.a. 'coypu' -Myocastor coypus) are an semiaquatic rodent native to South America. They were introduced to south Louisiana, USA in the 1930's and can now be found throughout the state. This picture was taken in a conservation area called Lake Martin, near Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
