Description:
Description: Pterophorinae sp., larva on Convolvulus arvensis L., Søborg, Denmark, 6 July 2014 Around 2.5 mm in length, found on same plant and in similar position (on top of the leaf at base of primary vein close to the petiole) to one of the similarly-sized Emmelina monodactyla (Linnaeus, 1758) larvae found the same day. However this caterpillar is much hairier, somewhat differently coloured, less obviously dorso-ventrally compressed and with a different posture standing higher on the legs and prolegs. Not clear whether this is a different instar of Emmelina monodactyla or an early instar of Pterophorus pentadactyla (Linnaeus, 1758). Date: 6 July 2014, 17:20. Source: Pterophorinae sp..
