Description:
Black-tailed Bumble Bee, probably Bombus melanopygus. This is the same bee on the same manzanita flower cluster. She was busy and moved quickly between flower clusters, common for B. melanopygus and this time of year. This was on the Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View, CA. I don't know the species of manzanita. More information regarding the trail can be found here: www.stevenscreektrail.org/
