Description:

Summary[edit] Description: I read about how these gulls will even kill other birds for food (and they are brutal in the process). The day after I took these shots I transported an injured sanderling to the Marine Science Center for care. It's leg was broken with the bone sticking out. At the time I couldn't think of what might have caused this but after seeing the pair of juvenile Bald Eagles and this huge gull on the beach I think the poor little bird may have been victim to a failed predation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Black-backed_Gull Appears to be an adult basic to me.
