Description:
Summary[edit] Description: Although the front tarsi are blurred the characteristic pattern of pale tarsal segments (2, 3 & 4) point to a member of the "albitarsis" group. The orange haltere is a characteristic shared by C. albitarsis and C. ranunculi but the pale 3rd antennal segment suggests C. ranunculi. A close look at the apical segment of the front tarsus would separate these two species but unfortunately this is not clear in the photograph. Females of these two species are for the moment impossible to tell apart!. Date: 5 June 2010, 18:13. Source: Cheilosia albitarsis / ranunculi. Author: S. Rae from Scotland, UK.
