Description: Calochortus nuttallii alongside the South Loop trail in the big avalanche area, Spring Mountains, southern Nevada (elev. about 2500 m); this could also be C. bruneaunis, which is also in the area, but which is said to have more of a purple ring around the nectary, and a greenish rather than purplish strip on the back of the petals.
