Description: Millettia thonningii Fabaceae -(Papilionoideae) Deciduous tree growing to about 10 m. Purple flowers appear with young leaves. Native : Africa (Congo, Ghana, Nigeria), common name in Africa: Turburku Fruit (seedpod) can be seen in the photo below - is a dehiscent pod, 12-15 cm long and 18-25 mm broad, sharply beaked, cuneate at the base, glabrous, smooth, flat and woody, usually containing 3-6 discoid black seeds about 10 mm across. www.worldagroforestrycentre.org/sea/products/afdbases/af/..
