Male and Female Warblers. WOOD AND WASTE 145 long—is that barred migrants favouritehost. It is the warmth, perhaps, of the domednest that tempts these tropical sybarites, ormay be their knowledge of the unweariedindustry of the little Warblers. The earliest nest I got this year was partlyconstructed on August 19th, and wasbut a few days in advance of many others.No doubt, therefore, second nests would bein process of construction, or even finished,by the date of the arrival of the shiningCuckoo. This Cuckoo arrives at Tutira during thefirst week of October. This year he wasfirst noticed onl.y on the 8th, and heard atintervals up till the 27th January. 20
