Summary[edit] Description: Sphaeralcea ambigua var. ambigua—apricot mallow. Apricot mallow grows in deserts from Utah to Baja California. It grows very well in southern California gardens, a bit trickier in San Francisco Bay Area gardens. Given the right conditions plants will bloom year round. The flower photographed is less than 2 centimeters in size. It is from a plant at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA. Date: 12 August 2017, 21:19.
