Summary[edit] Description: Sphaeralcea ambigua var. ambigua—apricot mallow. Apricot mallow grows in deserts from Utah to Baja California. It grows very well in southern California gardens, a bit trickier in San Francisco Bay Area gardens. Given the right conditions plants will bloom year round.
