Description:
Acetabularia crenulata Lamouroux, 1816 - white mermaid's wine glass alga on shallow, aragonitic sandy seafloor. The white mermaid's wine glass alga is the whitish-green, stalked organism near the center. It consists of a cup-shaped disk atop a slender stalk. Most of the fuzzy algae at bottom & at center-left & near the upper left corner are Batophora dasyclad green algae. Classification: Chlorophyta, Dasycladales, Polyphysaceae Locality: South Pigeon Creek estuary, southeastern San Salvador Island, eastern Bahamas
