Description:
Description: This is the rare and endangered Curtiss' Milkweed (Asclepias curtissii). This little plant is growing and blooming right in the middle of a sandy service road at Juno Dunes Natural Area (south). The road is traveled by a variety of benevolent county and federal vehicles, as well as maintenance and the "eradication" teams. Luckily, it is exactly in the middle of the path and so far has been safely passed over. Curtiss' Milkweed is endemic to Florida and one of our most beautiful species. Sky-blue lupine plants also love to grow in the middle of the sandy service roads. Date: 23 August 2012, 09:50. Source: Curtiss' Milkweed (Bravely Blooming in Roadway) Uploaded by Jacopo Werther.
