Description:
Summary[edit] Description: English: A juvenile of Podura aquatica from Shapwick Heath, Shapwick, England, United Kingdom. Original description on Flickr: I was at Shapwick Heath yesterday and found quite a few P. aquatica on a couple of pools- another new one for my list! They're not hugely common in the UK it seems, and this is the first record for Somerset as far as I know. These are mentally cool looking, though still trying to get a decent photo of an adult. I'll keep trying. They have this curious formation between their eyes, giving them a horseshoe bat appearance. It's like the normal globular springtail eyebrows have moved down and joined together between the ocelli. Frans..?. Date: 5 May 2013, 16:32:11. Source: Podura aquatica juvenile. Author: Andy Murray.
