Summary[edit] Description: Iva hayesiana—San Diego povertyweed. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 2B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA; common elsewhere). Prefers, but not limited to, coastal salt marshes. Found in coastal San Diego County and similar habitats in Baja California, including Isla de Cedros, Promoted in recent years by fire-fighting agencies in San Diego County as a fire-resistant ground cover. The corollas for both pistillate and staminate flowers are quite small: pistillate less than 1mm and staminate less than 2.5 mm.
