Description:
Description: Larus occidentalis English: Western Gulls in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. This is the first day that the photographer saw chick from this nest. The parent may still be on eggs, and there is certainly one other very young chick under the parent. The chick only came out from under its parent very briefly, and then went back in to the protection of its parent. Date: 1 June 2010, 17:21. Source: Recently hatched Western gull chick with parents.
