Summary[edit] Description: Fruiting kohekohe trunk - the panicles arise directly from the trunk (cauliflorous), bearing fruit capsules around 3 centimetres (1.2 in) across. Most of the green capsules are ripe (after about 15 months) and have split open to reveal 3-4 seeds encased in a jelly-soft reddish orange flesh shaped like cashew nuts. Date: 5 May 2019.
