Stipa viridula (27455991203)
Description:
Summary[edit] Description: Green needle grass is much more common in open prairie vegetation than in parkland vegetation in western Montana. Regardless, this native bunchgrass can coexist with its close relative and near-look-alike, Stipa nelsonii (Columbia needlegrass) in open understory especially along road cuts and stream banks. The relatively lax green leaves with dense hairs in the region of the collar and along the sheath margins are distinguishing of green needlegrass. Date: 1 July 2016, 20:29. Source: Stipa viridula.
