Description:
Description: English: This beautiful crustose lichen, Placopsis is abundant on basalt and particularly granite. It is one of the few (only?) crustose genera that has cephalodia (outgrowths -- the small brown rosette, for example, on the right side -- that contain cyanobacteria in addition to the regular green algae present in the rest of the thallus) Français : Ce beau lichen crustacé (encroûtant), Placopsis est abondant sur le basalte et le granit.
