Summary[edit] Description: Introduced, warm-season, perennial, robust, hairy grass, to 2 m tall; with stolons (to 5 m long) that are capable of growing over bushes and small trees. A native of Africa or America, it is scattered throughout the North Coast, but more common in the far north. Found in drains, along roadsides and waterways and in other wet areas. A weed of sugar cane. Suited to poorly drained soils of medium to high fertility in tropical and warmer subtropical areas. Date: 30 March 2006, 13:16. Source: Urochloa mutica habit1.
