CANADA JAYApril 8, IQ07 I20 Bird- Lore the same position for twenty minutes, then flew away to another lakenear by. On starting home I flushed a Wilsons Snipe, but failed to locate itsnest. Several Killdeers were running along the shore, continually utteringtheir familiar cries and trying to lead me away from their nest of young,which I did not have time to locate. The Northern Flicker is quite scarce here. I do not remember seeingmore than two or three pairs during the season and did not locate a singlenesting site. White-throated Sparrows and Slate-colored Juncos abound in
