Epidendrum significa "que habita árvores" porque as espécies deste gênero são epífitas (e algumas espécies são terrestres). English: Epidendrum denticulatum, an orchid. This tropical plant is found from Rio Grande do Sul to Pernambuco, and pollinated by butterflies or ants.
