These pictures are used with permission by local birder Matt Valencic who photographed them at Frohring Meadows today. In the first close-up, the bird appears to be eating caddisfly larva and is holding a case in its beak. In the second pic, the bird looks like it is eating the larva of a predacious diving beetle.
