Dickcissel (Spiza americana) - male 18 May 2016 Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma Dickcissels were nesting in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and we observed this male while it groomed from a perch next to one of the fences intended to keep the Buffalo and Longhorns in their respective sections of the wildlife refuge. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is administered by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, US Department of the Interior.
