Description:
"I'm not sure of this sea urchin ID. A quick search of Google Images suggested the name ""Short-spined Sea Urching (Lytechinus variegatus)"" but that doesn't match iNats critter by the same Latin name. The animal is about 2 to 2-1/4 inches in diameter. Several of these had washed ashore in a recent high tide with storm waves. Here I photographed one live individual and one not-so-alive."
