Description:

An empty shell of the invasive, damaging, and voraceous predator snail, Euglandina rosea, was observed near Kipu Road on Kauai. This snail is one of the worst enemies of the once diverse land snails of Hawaii. It was deliberately introduced to Hawaii in 1955 to control the introduced African Giant Snail, Achatina fulica.
