Image of Scaly-breasted Munia

Description:

Scaly-breasted Munia (Nutmeg Mannikin, Lonchura punctulata), adult, Hollywood Reservoir, Los Angeles County, California - 21 July 2012. We found a flock of about twenty of these birds along a trail that goes around the reservoir. This species is native to Asia but escaped birds have established some feral populations in California.
