Description:
Zorrillo listado captado en un monitoreo biológico dentro del APFF Campo Verde, Madera, Chihuahua. Los zorrillos del género Mephitis son comunes en la región, dentro del ANP se ha registrado 2 especies (M. mephitis y M. macroura) los cuales son similares en tamaño y algunas veces en el patrón de manchas, sin embargo el rasgo distintivo es el largo de la cola ya que en M. macroura (de ahà el nombre de la especie) es mayor (LC=275-435mm) que en M. mephitis (LC=184-393mm).
