Image of Pyrausta augustalis Grote
Description:
This is certainly one of my nicest finds at the porchlight at home, but not one of my better photographs. This species is known in the U.S. primarily from Central Texas, often in the Balcones Canyonlands region on the E and S edge of the Texas Hill Country. (iNat now has a single record from central Mexico.) This was a first Travis County record on BG and remains the only record I have for the species.
