Image of Gray Silky-flycatcher
Description:
Gray Silky-flycatcher 3 November 1985 Laguna Atascosa NWR, Cameron Co., Texas These are awful quality photos of the first Texas record of Gray Silky-flycatcher. There was one more Texas record in later years. Several people got much closer than I did and there are some pretty decent images in the Texas Photo Record File at Texas A&M University. The bird stayed 11 days and was seen by hundreds. The two shots here are cropped from very small images of the bird on 28 year old slides. I co-authored a paper about this bird which is cited below. 31 Oct-11 Nov 1985 Laguna Atascosa NWR, CAM (TBRC 1989-37; TPRF 363) (AB 40:140; Lasley and Pincelli 1986) Lasley, G. W. and T. Pincelli. 1986. Gray Silky-Flycatcher in Texas. Birding 18:34-36.
