Image of Diadumene neozelanica Carlgren 1924
Description:
Single individual in rockpool in lower intertidal zone, with finer tentacles than the many Anthothoe albocincta in the same pool. Column light blue-grey with darker stripes, about 11mm diameter and at least 6mm high - but it extends further when tentacles are fully extended. Tentacles pinky-orange, dark oral disc and bright orange mouth. In some views the column appears to have a narrow collar around the base of the tentacles when they are fully extended. The first photo was taken a day after the others, but all are of the same individual.
