Description:

These two anemones are in a rock pool in an area I often visit, across the the bay from the other observations I just uploaded. Here we see the larger 'catch' tentacles, which are not visible in most of my observations of this species. Probably because I'm seeing them at low tide when they're not feeding. But a very interesting aspect is that the bright orange 'lips' actually appears to be made up of those 'catch' tentacles folded into the stomach in a sort of resting position. There appears to be about 30 such tentacles. The bright orange (almost luminous) lips seem to be a feature visible in all specimens when photographing the oral disk, can be somewhat paler in white tentacled versions.
