Tamalia coweni (Russo) very common, especially on newly emerging glabrous leaves (seedlings; stump regeneration). Adults visible on leaves. I think each may have exit hole for emerging adults while non-adults remain within the gall. I had put a number of leaves in a zip-lock bag and several hours later had numerous winged adults within the bag. They may have been on the backs of the leaves I picked without my seeing them
