Image of Hyles lineata (Fabricius 1775)
Description:
Dormant sphinx moth found in dormitory resident garden. Initially observed at 9:56; upon returning to observe it at 13:38, I found that there was (and is as I type this) a lynx spider standing on its wings! How odd and interesting, that one can stand upon another without disturbing it. I wonder if there is any relationship between them, or if the (nocturnal) moth just happened to be the platform of the moment for the spider. Lynx on a sphinx.
