Description:
Interested in confirmation. I have never knowingly seen the species before. This is a female Gomphus. In the field, took it to be yet another G. militaris, like so many I have photographed before in the area. However, this individual differs .... 1. S9 is flared laterally unlike female militaris 2. The color is a striking yellow on black for all abdominal segments'. 3. color pattern of dorsal S8-10 fits graslinellus 4. color pattern of lateral S7-9 fits graslinellus and does not fit G. militaris.
