These are No Fly Zone pants from Eastern Mountain Sports. They say permethrin 0.52%. Tell that to the mosquitoes & ticks! They have been washed maybe a dozen times (supposed to be good for 70); I noticed mosquitoes landing on them much earlier than that. They have never been treated with stain remover, bleach, fabric softener, or concentrated detergent. I’d be interested in hearing others’ experiences with permethrin-treated clothing. Is the whole concept a snare and a delusion? Or is it just this particular product that’s a dud? The bug is a male American Dog Tick (1 of 2 picked up together while gardening), 3.5 mm long.
