Image of Eastern Amberwing
Description:
25 July 2015: Observed a male Eastern Amberwing (Perithemis tenera) testing the wind on a solid blade of golden colored grass on the Cottonwood Trail at the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) in Lewisville, Texas. Less I am mistaken, the Eastern Amberwing is the smallest dragonfly that flies under the skies of Texas. The first digital frame presented here constitutes the parting look it gave our way before flitting off to another pressing engagement.
