Description:
A memorable interaction. This large female was spotted running across the dune edge pursued by a large solitary wasp. They tangled, the spider sustained a sting and slowed to a crawl. I intervened and watched to see if the paralyzed victim would recover. It took awhile, but the spider regained its strength and motor control and was able to escape back into the dune grass.
