Image of Black Burying Beetle
Description:
"Found under a trash can. apparently the line in Evans & Hogue about this species being ""entirely black"" can be ignored. It certainly doesn't have the yellow hairs on the underside that N. guttula should have, and apparently that's the only other species with all-black elytra we would expect in CA. Excellent discussion at http://bugguide.net/node/view/148757/bgimage"
