Description:
Mops midas, Midas free-tailed bat, is a large bodied bat with an average mass around 45g. It is grey above with white flecks and paler below (dirty white). Like all Molossids, M. midas has a tail that is not enclosed by a membrane. It is an open-air forager and due to robust skull morphological features and diet studies, it is suggested that it feeds predominantly on beetles (Coleopterans).
