Image of Aeshna clepsydra Say 1840
Description:
Gail Taylor and I spotted this female ovipositing at St Patricks Lake. The only one we've ever seen. Hope to find another. Only one ever seen in this area far as we can tell. It stayed in this position for 5 to 10 minutes. Not great images but good enough for ID we think. No specimen collected.
